I have a big solo show coming up at the end of this month: Remixed Messages: Artworks by Gregory Scheckler 1990-2011, opening at Gallery 51 on Sept. 29th.
The show’s coming together nicely — many new paintings, some never-before-seen thingamajigs, and if you know my work then maybe even a few old favorites. Here’s a small preview of some of the new paintings:

Incidentally, this exhibit marks my 100th career exhibit. Not bad for a woolly ski-bum art professor!
The exhibit is part of the final round of shows for DownStreet Art, which has run all summer. A special thank you to Greylock Federal Credit Union, the lead sponsor for DownStreet Art. Thanks also to all of the DSA sponsors: Adams Co-Operative Bank, Berkshire Bank, Brewhaha, Ralph Brill, Christo’s Famous Pizza, City of North Adams, Creations, Desperados, Develop North Adams, Edward Jones Investments, Freight Yard Restaurant & Pub, Gramercy Bistro, Hoosac Bank, I Got Goodies, Jack’s Hot Dog Stand, James Montepare, Moulton’s Spectacle Shoppe Inc., The Party Place, Persnickety Toys-Games-Fun, The Porches Inn at MASS MoCA, Jarvis W. Greg, so great. I’m sorry I can’t see it in person. You are a great man and artist. Congratulations, my friend.
thanks Dr. Birzer!!
Your nephews think your paintings are fantabulous!!!!
Love the allegories and references to some of my favorite painters!
thanks! ‘fantabulous’ is most excellent description ever!
